13 Days

Has it set in that I’m actually going to do a marathon? Yes and I’m definitely excited.  I still feel a bit unprepared from both a training perspective and a “day of” perspective.  I need to start planning outfit options, decide what I’m bringing to the start area, etc.

Weird dreams? nothing race related.

Today’s workout: UGH today’s workout….. just over a mile swim (35 laps) and some stretching.  I am feeling super sluggish today 😦  I don’t know if I wasn’t counting properly or if I was really just swimming super slow, but it took me just under an hour to do 35 laps — which seems odd since I can usually get it done in about 45 minutes.  I seriously felt like I was swimming in molasses.

How’s the knee? It’s better…..I’m icing and resting it and plan to continue with that for the next 2 weeks!

Random thought(s) of the day: I feel like I need a weekend from my weekend — we were just way too busy!

I  realized this morning (at the gym) that I forgot to pack a bra and underwear for today….thankfully I had a clean sports bra at least!

I feel like running your first marathon (or maybe it’s even with subsequent marathons) is like planning wedding.  You put all this time and thought into the “big day” and it’s all over in 4-5 hours!
