I have lost all creativity

Yup that’s right, I’m so burned out from such a crazy day that I can’t even think of a catchy title for today’s post! I’m warning you now, this post may get a little nutty since my brain hasn’t come off of doing 150 thoughts per second yet.

So today started out as any other…alarm promptly going off at 5:20 a.m. and me dragging my butt out of bed at 5:30. Note to self, must set alarm a wee bit earlier when doing longer runs in the morning.

I set off to the gym with my 5-6 mile goal in mind. To be honest, the treadmill is starting to grind on me. I wasn’t minding it too much for the past couple months, but now that I’ve gotten a taste of outdoor running on the weekends, I forgot how terribly boring treadmill runs can be! About 3.5 miles in I was starting to feel the monotony and needed to change things up a bit. For the final 2.5 miles I ran at a faster pace for a bit and then did some sprints. All in all I felt great but now that nagging tightness in my left calf has reared it’s ugly head again.

I am very thankful that we have one of these:

This is the Jeanie Rub from Core Products. Best $225 we ever spent! Originally we bought it for my husband’s back problems (several surgeries, etc etc.) but I’ve found that it is AWESOME when I’ve got muscle tightness of my own to deal with! I will be busting that thing out after I’m done with this post to work on my calf.

After a great workout I headed to the office where things just got completely nutty. Ever have one of those days where you feel like you’re being pulled in 50 different directions and no matter how hard you try to concentrate on one thing, you constantly have to change gears? Today was one of THOSE days! 4.5 hours flew by like it was 5 minutes. Even after I left the office for the afternoon (had an appt. I had to be at) my phone kept dinging every couple of minutes with new requests from people. SHEESH!! It’s no wonder I’m sitting here with a cocktail…I need to unwind after all that!

Which brings me to my next random part of this post….I’m not a big drinker and neither is my husband. But some days, it’s nice to make a flavored vodka/seltzer cocktail and just chill for the evening. Tonight’s drink of choice is pomegranate vodka and seltzer šŸ™‚ I wish I could say this evening is relaxing after such a crazy day but I’ve got two wound up dogs that are craving my attention right now. Should be fun to try to sit on the floor and massage my calf with Omar (the great dane) shoving a slobbery toy in my face the whole time.

I read a lot of other blogs and most finish their posts with a question. I don’t think I have any readers, but I’ll throw one out there anyway:
What’s your favorite thing to do to unwind after a day of craziness?

I put on a pair of comfy pjs and veg out in front of the tv for a while. Not a big drinker either, but I don’t mind a glass of wine occasionally as well.
